How do you feel about winning/being nominated for the Spotlight Awards? It’s blooming marvellous for The Bell Witch Podcast to have won Best Podcast Award for the 2nd year running! It is now the third award my show has won, and it means the world to me. I work very hard on the show as a solo producer from start to finish, so it’s lovely to see that TBWP is enjoyed and valued by her fans.
How do you feel about your influence within the Pagan/Witchcraft community?
Influencing listeners to get witching in the 21st century, I feel, is a big responsibility! I strive to encourage people to embrace their spirituality through paganism and witchcraft, without gatekeeping, but also with respect and compassion to the vast, deep history of occultism and witchcraft. It’s a delicate balance, but I like to think that because witchcraft and paganism are massively important, positive and valued in my life, I do a good job!
Podcasting is a strong way to connect with others as it is long format media that stands above regular social media platforms. Society is being conditioned by social media perfection to be perfect and acknowledged by likes and follows, but has a longing to connect with authenticity, and I believe podcasting does this as fans choose to stop doom scrolling and listen to the magic podcasters share via audio. This aspect alone fills me with masses of happiness.
A little about yourself?
I have been creating The Bell Witch Podcast since March 23, and it’s an absolute joy to produce from start to finish in my little witchy podcast room. The connections I’ve made via the show are incredible. I’ve made friends with guests and found all this passion for living, singing and using my voice. It’s unbelievable how the capitalist system we live in encourages us to hate our voice, dislike ourselves and prevents us from speaking our truths. It thrives on us seeing each other as ‘competitors’. I use TBWP to actively rebel against this nonsense. Lifting each other up and sharing the success. There is enough for everyone. So if you have a witchy biz or a pagan passion, you could talk for Yorkshire about, let’s collaborate!
