What are Festival Zines?

The seasonal festivals of ancient Europe varied by region. The Anglo-Saxons focused on solstices and equinoxes, while Insular Celtic peoples celebrated four festivals named Imbolc, Bealtaine, Lughnasadh, and Samhain.

The eight-fold 'Wheel of the Year' calendar, created by Gerald Gardner, founder of Wicca, and Ross Nichols, the founder of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, merged these holidays together in the early 1900s. Later in the 1960s, the term "Wheel of the Year" was coined. Today, many pagans explore Paganism beyond Wicca and celebrate holidays from various cultures, but the Wheel of the Year still holds significance to the Pagan community.

'Festival' is a zine that provides a wealth of information, including stories, history, crafts, rituals, affirmations, and more for each Pagan holiday, creating a handy little pocket guide for you to have when celebrating each holiday. You can purchase a copy for only £7.
